A job to be proud of, not just for how quickly it was completed, but also and, above all, because of the enormous importance that the hospital has for community. We are talking about the involvement of Fiorini in the creation of the Covid area in the Polyclinic of Modena, carried out in the second half of 2020, to respond to the growing demand for hospital beds due to the second wave of the pandemic.
Tekno Service, the company in charge of the work, opted to use Fiorini’s heat exchangers to create the heating system which, since January 2021, feeds the system that serves the 30 beds provided by the hospital. Three gasketed plate heat exchangers, supplied in record time through the distributor, Fiorini Centro Gamma, and dedicated to managing both the heating and cooling.
More specifically, two F-206 heat exchangers were installed, each one of which exchanges 600 kW of power, managing water, on the primary circuit, at 85°C on input and 65°C on output, plus water, on the secondary circuit, at 40°C on input and at 50°C on output.
These were supplemented by an F-71 for cooling which, with its 131 plates, exchanges 500 kW of power, managing water, on the primary circuit, at 7°C on input and 12°C on output, plus water, on the secondary circuit, at 13°C on input and at 8°C on output).
This was a job, carried out in an emergency, which called for total availability of all the actors involved and, above all, the utmost flexibility in looking for solutions which enabled us to complete the work in the shortest time possible. An example of this flexibility was the decision by Fiorini to provide the installers with a custom F-20 TEMPLATE complete with couplings, so that they could lay out the pipes whilst waiting for the exchangers to be delivered. A strategic decision which avoided halting work and thus, having to extend the deadlines.
The new ward, completed in just a few months, is one of those projects which represents a success for everyone. One of those which it is satisfying to share.
