Can heat pumps provide both cooling and domestic hot water at the same time? Traditional ones can’t… but Fiorini ones can!
Fenix is the DC inverter heat pump system for HVAC that simultaneously combines direct expansion and hydronic terminals. In addition to cooling the home, the system also allows the free production of domestic hot water through heat recovery.
And this is precisely what made it the perfect solution to satisfy the heating, cooling, and DHW needs of a series of wooden homes designed in accordance with the highest energy efficiency standards.
The system consists of external units outside the homes used to heat or cool the gas inside, and internal units inside the home used to heat and cool the air or DHW.
How does Fenix work? The external units (F-ext) allow the development of combined hydronic/direct expansion systems from mono to penta split, while also allowing the production of Domestic Hot Water.
Each F-ext has a dedicated port for connection to the F-tank, the element responsible for the production of domestic hot water through heat recovery and storage in the incorporated glass-lined storage tank. This allows the simultaneous production of DHW and heating or cooling, a characteristic distinguishing Fenix from traditional heat pumps. Then there’s F-idro, an internal unit that feeds the various hydronic terminals, for example the radiant floor system in each of the homes.
Heating, cooling and domestic hot water in a single solution, this is the real added value of Fenix. Added value on which to base an entire system geared towards efficiency and sustainability.
